BoardCompanions was launched in Belgium in 2019, where many Non-profit organizations have embraced  transparency, accountability, and strategic planning, setting a standard for others to follow. Inspired by this

model, we launched BoardCompanions in the Netherlands in 2021 and now support 50 mandates.

Our goals

Our goal is to support Non-profit organizations and social enterprises in achieving their goals and improving

overall societal impact by nurturing Board Companions through continuous learning and development. We

create a community where leaders can learn, share, and grow, providing resources, training and support to

help organizations implement best governance practices for Boards and Management teams. By fostering a

culture of excellence, we aim to elevate the entire sector, ensuring Non-profit organizations and social

enterprises can maximize their impact.
